Christmas Letter

The Banner Year of 2024 brought us not one, not two, but THREE new grandchildren! We really can’t think of any possible news that could top that. Here are the new grandchildren:
September 24: Zayden Taylor arrived to daughter Sierra and son-in-law Tyler Robertson in Walla Walla, joining older sister Vienna and brother Andre
October 21: Olivia-Rose arrived to daughter-in-law Moeko and son Brenden King in Memphis, Tennessee, their firstborn.
December 11: Lucy Ryan arrived to daughter Hannah and son-in-law Ryan Robinson in Medford, Oregon, joining older brother Laken.

Children and grandchildren missing from the Christmas photo L to R: Hannah, Lucy, Ryan, Laken, (Medford, Oregon) Cheyenne, Ryder, Mossen, Hatcher (Fremont, Michigan)
January: A happy week on Kauai with our daughters Sierra and Hannah and their families.
April: Art takes a trip to the Sonoran desert in Mexico with his friend Dennis Davis to experience a beautiful total eclipse of the sun.
June: Son-in-law Tyler loses the end of a finger in an accident. Doctor successfully sews it back on.
July: Family reunion at a river-side cabin in Sunriver Oregon with most of our offspring. Exciting Deschutes River float.
August: Ronda and Art road trip with Willa as she starts PA school in Nebraska.
October: Art experiences in-person the launch and first landing catch of the Starship rocket at Boca Chica Texas, then goes again for the November launch. Rocket Nerd credentials firmly established.
December: Eight of our children gather for a Christmas season of fun.
Elissa and David are still in Fremont, Michigan. Their four children include two teenagers now, with basketball games filling winter evenings.
Brenden and Moeko live in Memphis, Tennessee. Brenden started law school at the University of Memphis in the fall. Moeko is a cancer researcher at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Their new baby is the biggest event of their year (or maybe decade!).
Bethani, after 6 years of living out of a backpack, has rented an apartment in Portland, Oregon. She still travels to Colombia multiple times a year to manage OTGI projects for Venezuelan refugees.
Sierra and Tyler moved into their completed house next door to us early in the year. Sierra works part-time as a Physician’s Assistant at St. Mary’s Hospital cardiology. Tyler continues in construction and has started an egress window installation business. They are now a family of 5.
Ian lives a few blocks from us and continues to buy BMWs at auction, fix them up, and sell them.
Hannah and Ryan are in Medford, Oregon. Hannah quit her job this year to be able to stay home, and their second child arrived in December. Ryan continues to grow his music app business in the Apple app store.
Taylor lives close by and has nearly completed a major house remodel. He works with brother-in-law Tyler on their egress window business.
Caleb also lives in College Place. He is the payroll accountant for a local company and keeps up his side-gigs: reffing volleyball games and playing viola in the Walla Walla Symphony.
Willa completed her first semester of Physician’s Assistant school in Lincoln, Nebraska this fall. She is thriving in her new world.
Rylee lives nearby and works full-time at Bon Appetite at Whitman College. She continues to delight us with her new and tasty food experiments.
